The Monkeys Know How to Stab the Heart

The flying monkeys are smarter then I give them credit for. For example, when in big trouble they will say "You really hurt my feelings". Sometimes that stings and makes me question my parenting. Other times it makes me think they have become excellent manipulators.

It's not all bad though, for instance, they know that we like it when they get along. So almost daily they will give each other a knock-you-down bear hug, complete with a cheesy grin, ham it up and say "Look Mom, we love each other." To which I respond: "that makes me very happy". Then they say "Can we have a treat?". Sigh.

So they are smart, but not evil, just learning. I guess it's my job to teach them sincerity and pray that they get it someday.
