So recently Papa cut Peanut's hair. He did this while I was out of the house for the day. I did not make a big thing about it, it is cute and easier to brush through. Although, I found this pic of the one time she let me braid her hair and I am kind of missing her long baby locks.

Different Doesn't Mean Wrong
In Romans 15:1-7, Paul writes that you are to find room in your heart to love and accept those who differ from you. In the center of all your relationships, hang an imaginary plaque that reads "Different Doesn't Mean Wrong."
Jesus accepted and respected each of you, loving you enough to die on the cross for your sins. He now asks you to extend that same nonjudmental love to those in your life.

Evan Almighty
The hubby got "Evan Almighty" as part of his Valentines and we all watched it again last night. Such a cute movie (much better than Bruce Almighty and more family friendly). My favorite parts are:
1) Where Evan is telling God about his plans and God starts laughing
2) When God tells Evan "you can change the world one act of random kindness at a time"
and
3) Where God tells Evan's wife how he answers prayers
Plus, it's pretty funny too. Steve Carrell from The Office always delivers.

Partners In Crime #8
So the newest scheme is regarding handwashing. Thing #1 has taught Thing #2 that after washing their hands in the bathroom to, instead of drying (as well-behaved children who want to keep their mother sane would do), run out in the hallway and make handprints.
Sidenote on today: Poop on the bathroom floor, mud tracks in the kitchen..................don't these people/animal know cleaning makes me crabby!

T-Man's Big Dino Day
Well yesterday T-Man did not have school due to parent/teacher conferences, however, the Peanut still had CDO so we decided to make it a special day for T-Man. He and I went to the Science Center to see "Dinosaurs Unearthed!". It was actually pretty cool. Peanut would not have gone near those big dinosaurs but T-Man thought it was neat. We also splurged on the "Build-A-Dino" for him which he named "T-Man" and has been carrying around everywhere for the last 24 hours. We met up with Papa for lunch and we let him get Cheetos, which I never let him get. I think he had a pretty good day and it was really nice for me too. For once, I wasn't distracted, and focused just on him, his words, and his experiences.
Later Papa and I went to Parent/Teacher conferences and were so pleased with what the teacher told us. She said Toby is a very smart boy and her only issue was keeping him challenged. She also said he gets along well with the other children and when asked about the cross, bible, and prayer he explained that "Jesus died on the cross for our sins", the "Bible tells us about Jesus", and "Prayer is how I talk to God". Needless to say, we were both very proud. He is such a good boy and it was wonderful to hear that his teacher thinks so too.

Hurry Spring!
Peanut put on a seashell summer dress and said, "it's a couple months, can we go to the beach now?". She knows we are taking a family vacation at a beach "in a couple of months" so she thought she would just skip ahead a little and put the beach dress on.
I can't say I blame her. Right now I could use some relaxation at the beach. I never thought I was a winter blues person but lately I feel like I need some distractions. I know a lot of it is the hubby's job, he needs an escape right now. The stress just keeps building.
I know God will use this time for something good. We just have to make the best of it and enjoy the now as much as possible. The now is a healthy family with all of our needs met, how can we complain? We have God and we have each other, and that gives me peace in stressful times. Chocolate helps a little bit too :-)

The top may blow
You ever have those moments where you can literally feel your blood pressure raising and your head getting hot, and you picture your face turning red, steam coming out your ears, and the top literally blowing off. Well I have had too many of those moments this week. The makings of a crappy week:
1) Cabin fever
2) Trying to work from home with kids who have cabin fever and no nap
3) A professional disagreement and venting session
4) The ONE day both kids are at school and the house is quiet, they call early and say Peanut is sick
5) Peanut is not sick but you worry why she was crying and laying down at school
6) A husband who is so stressed by work his top may blow
and the biggest one of all....
7) Peanut having a nervous breakdown at the cardiologist. Kicking, thrashing, shaking, crying the whole nine yards. I could not calm her and felt helpless. Needless to say we will have to go back soon, they didn't even get her blood pressure.
I realize things could be A LOT worse and that we are still extremely blessed but honestly that makes me feel even worse! That I am getting upset over, well, life. I am realizing again though I need to hold as tightly to God as possible, and a new revelation, I want to examine and identify Satan and tell him to get off my back!!!

Chocoholic
Well I was on chocolate overload this weekend: chocolate fondue, homemade hot chocolate, and finally Mocha Monkey bread...which if you haven't tried you should. It's $3.99 at Target, the Archer Farms brand. Who wouldn't love butter drenched chocolate chocolate chip bread? I suspect it's still pretty good without the butter but wouldn't know for sure ;-))
I didn't realize homemade hot cocoa was so easy, and so delicious!
Homemade Hot Cocoa (4 servings)
4 cups milk (heated in saucepan until you see a little steam and the milk is frothy)
While milk is heating in each mug (4) put 1-2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1-2 tbsp sugar, and dash of salt. Divide milk between mugs and add splash of vanilla and favorite toppings (our house has marshmellows and whip cream!)

T-man say "Can you give me a humantic break?"
Word to the Wise: If you ever have a bean bag chair break open and start leaking tiny styrofoam balls, sew it up IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise you will find them in your house forevermore.
